Terms and Conditions

TERMS & CONDITIONS: This report is issued by International Gemmological Services [IGS], subject to the terms and conditions herein after set forth. This report is supplied on the request of the customer, and is issued for their exclusive use. The issuer has made no representation or warranty regarding this report, or the gem/s description. Since gem grading is not an exact science, this report represents only the best professional opinion of this organisation. IGS is in no case responsible for differences which could occur by repeated expertise and/or other standards, norms, methods or criteria used other than those used by IGS. Whilst IGS is committed to continually investing in equipment and improving techniques, the results of any other examinations performed on the item may differ depending upon when, how and by whom the item is examined, and upon the changes and improvements in techniques and equipment that may have occurred which may enable the examiner to detect, amount other matters, the use of processes for altering the characteristics of an item, or alteration which became reversible even if the process remains undetectable, which could not previously have been detected by IGS.

The item described in this report has been examined by IGS. IGS has no present, contemplated or further interest in the subject item save the fees and charges levied for completion of reports, which might prevent us from making a fair and unbiased appraisal. This report has been completed on the basis of tests of the gem/s. IGS have examined the gem/s carefully with specialised instruments and prepared this report to the best of their knowledge and professional standards. Expert opinion may reasonably vary as to the characteristics covered in this report hence IGS or any member of their staff shall not, at any time be held responsible for any discrepancy which may result for the application of other examination methods.

Where gem/s are set into finished items prior to grading, all grades and weights must be considered approximate as the accuracy is limited to the extent that the mounting permits. Weights and measurements have an associated uncertainty of measurements, which should be considered. The report expresses an opinion at the time of the examination of the gem/s and neither the client not any purchaser of the gem/s shall regard this report as an appraisal or as a guarantee or warranty.

The liability of IGS for any direct loss or damage which the client may suffer as a result of this report is limited to the fees paid by the client of IGS for this report. IGS shall not be liable to the client for any loss of profit or any indirect or consequential (including economic) loss of any kind which the client may suffer as a result of or in connection with this report. This report and any dispute arising out of or in relation to it shall be governed by the laws of England and subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the English Courts.
